Practice really helped Leo

Practice really helped Leo

Posted by Alan Day News

We received a lovely email from a Connecticut mom in which she tells us how much our practice boarding event had helped her son with taking a real flight. She says :

We participated in the Autism Flies event in October, and last week we took Leo on his FIRST airplane trip (with Breeze Airway of course!).

This event was such a wonderful opportunity for Leo to practice being in the airport and being on a plane. It made our family encouraged to schedule a real actual flight and trip to Florida, and Leo did amazing! He remembered and understood the airport and boarding the plane.

We are so appreciative of your airline hosting this event, and you will certainly keep us as loyal customers 🙂

Also, a special shout out to the flight attendant who asked how Leo best communicates in case of an emergency (which was a lovely way to ask this), and told us that she would keep a special eye on us throughout the flight in case we needed anything.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. This was such a special trip for us to take as a family. We are so proud of Leo, and so grateful that your airline offered us this opportunity.

Check out my smiling man below. When the plane started to liftoff, he was VERY excited 🙂

NOTE: We are not showing his photo here so as to respect his privacy. So, sorry, you’ll need to imagine this very happy photo.

About us

Both of ADC’s co-founders are career ‘travel people’ and both have special needs children: CEO Alan Day comes from the travel agency side and David Tait from aviation, where he was a co-founder of Virgin Atlantic Airways. In 2015, recognizing first-hand the industry’s lack of understanding of, and failure to cater to the special needs traveler, the two formed ADC and set about changing things.
