Good managers do things right. LEADERS DO THE RIGHT THING.

Welcome Travel Professionals.

When you become Autism Inclusive, is it a matter of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or a means to improve your bottom line?

Here’s some really great news. It is BOTH. Check it out below:

  • Market Characteristics
  • Certification Process
  • Reaching the Market

Market Characteristics

If, like the vast majority of travel industry professionals, you have never given any serious thought to autism’s potential relevance to your business, maybe you should consider the following facts:

  • In North America (US & Canada), over 20 million people are parents to one or more children with autism.
  • When parents of autistic children were asked:
    • “Do you take family vacations?” 87% said NO.
    • And “if autism-friendly options were available, would your family be more inclined to travel?” 93% said YES.
  • People with autism have a general preference for travel at quieter (low season) times.
  • People with autism often exhibit repetitive behaviors, i.e. they are excellent candidates for repeat business.
  • Being autism-friendly puts you far ahead of your competition.

Twenty million – not currently traveling – wanting slow periods –potential repeat business and your competition doesn’t know about them!

Certification Process

Certification is available at three levels.

Levels one and two require our training components. Level three additionally requires the information component.

Training Component

  • Training is travel industry specific.
  • Training is job specific. Courses are tailored to specific situations that may arise in each job function.
  • All ADC training is designed to be suitable for individuals of any educational background.
  • Training is online and accessible 24/7 from any device.
  • All training is self-paced..
  • All ADC training is formulated to give maximum delivery in the shortest possible time. The aim is to minimize time taken away from regular, revenue-producing activities.
  • To eliminate the cost problem associated with employee turnover, ADC charges training “per seat” rather than specifically attaching it to a named individual.
  • All course updates and new course releases will be made available at no additional charge.
  • Current ADC scores on NPS range from +78.4 to +90.3.

Information Component

  • Successful travel with an autistic child demands careful and detailed planning.
  • Parents or caregivers need and greatly appreciate as much advance information as possible.
  • ADC prepares a Visitor Guide (information for parents and caregivers) and a Social StoryTM (information formatted for understanding by autistic children) and each is unique for every establishment.
  • These Guides will contain the unique feature of an index sorted by sensory hazard: This enables parents to focus on the hazards that most impact their child and ignore those which do not.

Level One – Autism Aware

Basic training that gives  parents the comfort of knowing that you understand their issues.

Low cost option and very rapid roll out.

Level Two – Autism Ready

Builds upon Level One with job specific training that identifies situations that may arise and offers potential solutions.

Still low cost  and still rapid roll out.

Level Three – Autism Double-Checked

Certification is awarded to companies that undertake training to Level Two and publish the Visitor Guide.

Allows entry to all specialized marketing programs.
