Breeze Airways™ Partners with Autism Double-Checked to Provide Autism Awareness Training for Team Members to Better Assist Guests’ Needs

— Breeze to Become First Certified Autism-Inclusive US Network Carrier –

Breeze Airways, the Seriously Nice™ new U.S. low-fare airline founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, has initiated a training program for frontline Team Members on how to deliver a safe and happy travel experience to individuals with autism. The program, developed by Stamford, Connecticut-based Autism Double-Checked will provide flight attendants with training on identifying and alleviating the stresses of air travel.

By operating out of underserved airports, Breeze already provides a more pleasant travel experience.  Now Breeze will extend its caring service to the autism community.

“It has always been our top priority to provide a simple, accommodating, and reliable travel experience to each of our customers,” said David Neeleman, Founder and CEO of Breeze Airways.  “Combined with everything else we bring to the marketplace, this initiative will help ensure that our autistic Guests receive a stress-free and pleasant air travel experience.”

Breeze’s partner in the initiative, Autism Double-Checked (ADC) was founded by accomplished travel professionals and parents of children with special needs. As such, ADC brings a deep understanding of travel industry logistics and the difficulties faced by families of individuals on the autism spectrum when traveling.

“We are thrilled to partner with Breeze to help their team to better understand and assist guests with autism,” said Alan Day, Co-Founder and CEO, Autism Double-Checked. “April is World Autism Acceptance Month and we hope this partnership will be a catalyst to elevate the importance of autism training for the travel/hospitality industry.

Breeze Airways began service in May 2021 primarily in the east and southeast of the United States, but is expanding west across the U.S. with 87 routes between 30 cities in 18 states.  Founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, Breeze is a low fare carrier offering “new, nice and nonstop flights” between secondary airports, bypassing hubs for shorter travel times.  Breeze’s mission is to make the world of travel simple, affordable and convenient, using technology, ingenuity and kindness to improve the travel experience.   With seamless booking, no change or cancellation fees, up to 24-months of reusable flight credit and customized flight features delivered via a sleek and simple app, Breeze makes it easy to buy and easy to fly.  Flights are on sale at www.flybreeze.com and via the Breeze app.

Watch for announcements as Breeze Airways and Autism Double-Checked stage practice boarding events around the US.
