We asked: “What will it take to better equip the travel industry to serve the autism community?” We got two answers that stood out above all others.

The number one answer – “Non-judgmental, well-informed staff”.

All customer-facing staff at every certified, hotel, airline and airport have taken the Autism Double-Checked training on Assisting Guests with Autism to better understand the needs of the autistic traveler.

How much better would it be if you could tell such staff about your loved one’s unique challenges and needs before you travel?  Well, you can: Just use the Autism Passport to tell them.

One really great thing about the Autism Passport is that you only need to prepare it once to be able to share it with any certified travel provider. Your airport? Your airline? Your hotel? Your travel advisor? Yes, yes, yes and yes.

Be specific about your loved one’s unique needs in up to 16 different categories. Two, or more, travelers on the spectrum? Set up two, three or even more passports and share them all at the same time.

The number two answer – “Information and more information …”

Every certified travel provider has prepared lots of special information for you, and it can all be found in our Directory of Certified Providers.

Even so, it’s possible that there might be something specific that isn’t covered. Can you get answers to your questions about such things? You can: use the Autism concierge to ask them.

Once again, it’s a breeze! Just find the certified travel provider in our directory, click on ‘Autism Concierge’ and it will open a dialog box for you to ask your question(s).

Best of all, setting up an Autism Passport is a breeze. Just try for yourself by clicking this button:

About us

Both of ADC’s co-founders are career ‘travel people’ and both have special needs children: CEO Alan Day comes from the travel agency side and David Tait from aviation, where he was a co-founder of Virgin Atlantic Airways. In 2015, recognizing first-hand the industry’s lack of understanding of, and failure to cater to the special needs traveler, the two formed ADC and set about changing things.
