Autism Double-Checked (ADC) makes it easier to find travel providers committed to supporting autistic travelers and their families. Our Directory of Certified Providers includes hotels, resorts, airlines, airports, and travel advisors that have achieved one of our three levels of autism certification.

You can explore certified providers, learn about their certification levels, and access detailed Visitor or Passenger Guides where available to help plan your trip.

Autism certification demonstrates a travel provider's commitment to better understanding and supporting autistic travelers and their families.

Autism Double-Checked offers three progressive levels of certification:

• Autism Aware (Level 1): Providers accept the Autism Passport, allowing travelers to share individual needs and preferences in advance.

• Autism Ready (Level 2): Providers also offer detailed Visitor or Passenger Guides to help travelers know what to expect before their trip.

• Autism Double-Checked (Level 3): Providers additionally complete autism training requirements for staff, including practical, job-specific guidance.

Each level builds on the previous one, helping create more informed, welcoming travel experiences.

Knowing what to expect can help autistic travelers and their families prepare for unfamiliar environments. Autism Double-Checked provides detailed Visitor and Passenger Guides for travel providers certified at the Autism Ready and Autism Double-Checked levels.

These guides include information about potential sensory considerations such as noise, lighting, crowds, waiting times, and other aspects of the travel experience. Because every autistic traveler has unique needs, families can review the information most relevant to them before their trip.

Autism Double-Checked's Autism Passport allows autistic travelers and their families to share individual needs, preferences, and potential challenges with certified travel providers before a trip.

The Autism Passport can include information about communication, sensory sensitivities, routines, and helpful support strategies. Once created, it can be shared with multiple ADC-certified providers, including airlines, airports, hotels, and travel advisors, so families don't have to explain their needs from scratch each time they travel.

Every ADC-certified provider accepts the Autism Passport regardless of certification level.

If you need information that isn't covered in a travel provider's Visitor or Passenger Guide, Autism Double-Checked's Autism Concierge lets you ask additional questions before your trip.

The Autism Concierge is available through the guides of providers certified at the Autism Ready and Autism Double-Checked levels. Families can ask about specific facilities, services, sensory considerations, or other details that may affect their travel experience.

To use it, find the provider in our Directory of Certified Providers, open its Guide, and select Autism Concierge.

Preparing in advance can help autistic travelers and their families feel more comfortable with the airport and flying experience. Learning what to expect, discussing potential sensory challenges, and identifying helpful support strategies can all make a difference.

Autism Double-Checked offers several resources to help families prepare, including our Autism Flies program, which provides free practice boarding events at participating airports. These events allow families to experience check-in, security screening, waiting at the gate, and boarding an aircraft without the plane taking off.

Families can also explore our Passenger Guides and read our article, Preparing for Your First Flight With an Autistic Child , for additional guidance.
